| I shall forever keep my fingers crossed in hopes of this(or the new combat system) comes out. |

I was just reading G.I. Joe volume 4 (of the original comic) today, and I found it rather amusing that when Cobra tried to evacuate the relatively innocent civilian population of its base-town Springfield when it came under attack by the Joes, it was the so-called "good guys" (Joes) that decided to block the evacuation routes with burning cars.
Looking back on those comics (which I didn't read as a kid), I'm noticing a lot of unethical stuff being passed off as maverick heroism. It's almost as if the writers were trying to undermine the concept of civil liberties so as to make future soldiers with no scruples about killing anyone labelled "terrorist".
(No, I'm not trying to start a political debate, but it would be interesting to see what university-level research on long-term propaganda might reveal.) |

| We're probably not going to see it unless we, the fans, do something. I'm not sure what, though, as the thing most likely to be successful would be to donate to cover printing costs, and they don't want us to do that. |

We certainly do appreciate the thought, even if we cannot accept such a kind gesture. I think I've gone through a list of things about why we can't accept donations, but another problem with that is what if we aren't able to collect enough funds? Then what? If people donate in the hopes that their money will go towards printing the book and we still don't have enough to cover the costs, what happens to the money? The logistics for handling that would be more than I would wish to handle.
It's not that we don't want to print it. Believe me, I really, really, really want to get it out there. _________________ Joe Chan

| You need some sort of fund-raising group like a PAC. |

I haven't posted on these fourms before, I've just been observing for a while, I've had an Idea and I decided its time to post it.
Would it be possible to set up a preorder program? I don't know what the inital vs. per copy printing costs are, but I was thinking you could set up a preorder program with a goal number, a number which, if reached or exceeded would cause the printing to be profitiable to LRG. it would be intresting to see how many people want the game and also if you did get the number you were looking for it would make everybody happy. |

I think someone suggested this before. Joe nixed it, because it would be impossible to refund the money correctly if the printing didn't happen. _________________ Angelita

| there's a difference between donating and preording, for one in a preorder situation you don't accually charge people till the product ships. So no money would change hands untill the goal number was reached. And If the goal number is in the thousands or even teen thousands I think it would be a very realistic number to reach. |

But if people don't finalize the orders, LRG is left holding a very expensive bag. _________________ Angelita

Hm, I didn't spend that much time in the dealer room at Origins (too little money), but I didn't see that much printed material that wasn't at the cheapo booth...
Hubby spent more time, so I'll post a report on his views tomorrow. _________________ Angelita

Hi, just wondering if there's been any further thought given to this game in light of Capcom Ltd. annoucing that they're working on a new Street Fighter movie (to be released in 2008, for the 20th anniversary).
What can I say? I really want this game. _________________ Sometimes I just lie in bed, looking up at the stars...

Capcom's announcement did spark a little bit of interest, but with things the way they are right now, no further consideration has been given into renewing the license. However, this is 2 years away, and we do have a practically finished product sitting on our desk. If things can improve drastically over the next... say 12 months, I think chances are good for a renegotiation. I do appreciate your continued support, in any case. Thank you! _________________ Joe Chan
